NYFW Day 2 Part I: Backstage with Nicole Miller and More

New York Fashion Week has been such a whirlwind. I actually have to look back at my calendar to remember what I did on NYFW Day 2. It was busy but such a fun day! I’m going to share a little bit of real life at fashion week and NYFW Day 2 is definitely the day for it. I literally broke my shoe this day but I’m still obsessed with them and they’re so cute. I’ll be sharing my day in a super candid fashion so come along with me and relive one of my favorite times of year!

NYFW Day 2 of  started off hanging out at Bollare for their disco themed styling suite. They had this really cool denim embroidery station where you got to pick out a Wrangler piece then decide what you wanted embroidered on it. I can’t wait to show you what I decided to put on there! I got so many cool pieces that I shot this week so stay tuned to see those pics over the next few days. The next stop was to Alison Brod which was literally the cutest office I have ever seen and their beauty product closet is heaven on earth. I have so many beauty products that I cant wait to share with all of you. They are currently en route from NY to LA because I ran out of room in my suitcase but in about 7-10 days I’ll do a total unboxing and talk about the products and then which ones I like the best after I try them.

After that, I ran (not literally I would never run) back to the apartment with so many bags that my Uber driver thought I was crazy. My outfit was completely wrinkled at this point and I didn’t have a steamer and had about 20 min before I had to go downtown. I used this new, high end steaming process called hanging your outfit in a steaming hot shower and hoping it doesn’t get wet method. I’m pretty sure I just stared at my schedule for these 20 min thinking about how crazy I was for booking so many things back to back and dreaming of the iced almond milk vanilla latte that I still hadn’t consumed.

I put on my less wrinkled, slightly damp outfit and hopped in a cab to go hang out with the Redken crew at the Redken Styling Suite. This suite was awesome! It had the best view of the city and even had a hot tub. I did beachy waves and a really cool side braid.  How amazing is the view?! I’ll be breaking down my full outfit details in Day 2 Part II here.

Next I was off to two shows and backstage for Nicole Miller! Just kidding… I missed my first show and went running into Skylight super late and they had closed the doors already 🙁 It looked amazing online though! Then my shoe broke when I was running up the stairs at a WWD and Samsung event. It was a super cool event and I love these shoes but they literally lasted me for a grand total of like 6 hours? Luckily I could still walk in them though. So I love these and still want to save them so I’m thinking about super glue. Thoughts? Suggestions? I’ll keep you posted on how  project “save the shoe” goes.

Next stop was backstage at Nicole Miller… The Nicole Miller setup was so cool! It was total jungle vibes and you could tell in not only the scenery but in the hair and makeup too. It was at the Gramercy Park Hotel and I honestly thought the venue was perfect. The makeup was done by Kelli J. Bartlett for GLAMSQUAD and is totally chic Jungle Safari. Think bushy brows, lots of mascara, a stained lip and the perfect amount of bronzer. I’ve linked to all of the products used to achieve the look below. The nails were done by Christina Quercia for GLAMSQUAD and the color is called Exposed. The hair was done by Redken and they incorporated these really cool pieces of material braided into some of the model’s hair.
