As I begin to break out my summer clothes I’m realizing that it’s time to freshen up some of my favorite looks. I love the look of a small heel with denim shorts when styled correctly. It’s such an easy way to completely change the look of an outfit and really elevate denim shorts and a white t-shirt into a very chic and stylish look.
The height:
The first thing to consider is the height of the heel. These Betsey Johnson heels work because the kitten heel is about 2 ½” inches which is perfect for shorts. You don’t want to go too high and lose the tastefulness of the look if you’re going to try to wear them with denim shorts. This look is supposed to be effortless and the understated elegance of the heel really makes that happen. I also like these heels with the blazer because the blazer is a little bit longer and hits right around the shorts so it’s a good skin to clothing ratio.
Masculine and feminine touches:
These Betsey Johnson heels are super feminine, which I absolutely love and the best part is that they can also be styled in an edgier way by mixing them with more masculine pieces. They are the perfect amount of feminine to play off of the more masculine blazer as well as the classic white t-shirt. I decided to go with the nude color because I love that color combo with black and denim but these shoes also come in black and a really pretty floral color. I have visions of the floral pair with white pants and a strapless tie top playing off one of the colors in the shoes so please someone make that happen! It would be so cute.
From denim shorts to wedding chic:
These Betsey Johnson heels from Macy’s are perfect for an evening look as well. We all know wedding season is in full swing and honestly these are perfect. The black is great for an evening wedding or black tie event while the nude or floral are perfect for sunset ceremonies, bridal showers and more.
