The 6 Critical Carry On Checklist Items

Today I’m sharing my 6 carry on checklist items that are so important in making airports and planes as calming as possible. These carry on checklist items that are key for airport survival because flying is actually the worst and also because idk where my private plane is but it’s not here. I’m going to be on a plane so much over the next few weeks and it’s really important to bring things that make the plane as less plane-link as possible. These 6 carry on checklist items are definitely things you should be adding to your travel routine.  I just ordered more of the gold eye pads today so I’m definitely a firm believer.

I don’t know if any of you saw the Instagram story of my boyfriend pushing me through LAX on a luggage cart while also wheeling my huge 50 pound suitcase as I was holding my crutches and of course documenting the whole thing. I kid you not no one at LAX could track down a wheelchair so of course we got resourceful. That was fun and all but I’m really going to try to avoid all of that on these trips. So basically I’m doubling up on my ankle exercises so I’ll be walking by my trip… in like a week. Wish me luck!

This post is all about my 6 carry on survival items that will take me from St. Tropez to fashion week.  Let’s break them down below

  1. Sonix backup charger – I don’t think I even need to go into detail about this. I travel with about 3 on me at all times in case of emergency. I wish I was kidding… this one is great though but I’ll only charge your phone once. Get it here.
  2. Burt’s Bees hand sanitizer – There is nothing worse than being on a plane or at the airport without hand sanitizer. This is probably my worst nightmare. This hand sanitizer is my ride or die when it comes to planes. Get it here.
  3. Too Cool For School magic wand erase sticks –  I hate flying with makeup on. It just makes me feel like all of that makeup is seeping into my pores and who wants that? These magic wand sticks are perfect because they’re great for taking off your eye makeup before a flight or touching up after a shorter flight. Get them here.
  4. aHead headphones – Full disclosure: I sometimes wear headphones on the plane with nothing playing just to drown out all of those plane sounds. These are perfect for sleeping, ignoring the person next to you, muffling the sound of crying babies.. etc. Get them here.
  5. Slip silk eye mask – I’m totally one of those people that sleep in an eye mask at night but this is crucial when flying! I hate sleeping on planes but beauty rest is real and how else are you going to adjust to the time zones? The mask also makes you kind of forget for .2 seconds that you’re on a plane. Out of sight, out of mind? Also the silk is good for your skin because it minimizes pulling. Get it here.
  6. Grace and Stella eye pads –  I bought these off of Amazon on a whim one day because I needed to get rid of my bags before early morning shoots and I am obsessed. I use these every single time I get off the airplane. I had them on my eyes in a cab once after a flight from LA to New York and the cab driver thought I was crazy but hey it was worth it. Get them here.

I might be doing another post with 6 more carry on checklist items because there are actually so many and I don’t want to miss any. This is a great start though. Happy flying and good luck!
