I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! The hunt for the perfect New Year’s Eve dress is always an ordeal.  While I’m going to talk about that later in this post, I wanted to talk about New Year’s resolutions first. Not to be a buzz kill but I’m not a New Year’s resolution person. I think you have the opportunty to be a better person each day and I don’t think that you need to wait a year to make a positive change in your life.

My “new year” in 2016 probably took place this spring/summer when I finally decided to dedicate the time I’ve always wanted to for my blog. I began actually shooting content instead of constantly saying I needed to do so. I also made a last minute decision to go to New York Fashion Week two weeks before it started. I finally stopped saying “I need to go to fashion week” and not to be cheesy but actually doing. Ok – I’m almost done with my rant. While thinking of ways to better yourself in 2017 is a wonderful thing, don’t forget that you can better yourself everyday. If I could give you any advice from wha I’ve learned this year it would be to stop thinkinging and start doing.

Now on to the New Year’s Eve dress! This dress that I’m wearing is from Lulu’s and is 100% petite approved. It fits so well! It’s hard for me to wear maxis sometimes because if they are too loose they aren’t very figure flattering. This dress fit so well. It has 2 of my favorite things, velvet and a slit. It also comes in a maroon color too. My friend sent me a photo of her New Year’s eve dress yesterday to see if it was ok to wear white.  My answer was yes! This is just personal preference but I am a huge fan of black or winter white for NYE. As long as the dress is a winter white or winter material, you are good to go. I love a little shimmer too but I’m a little picky about the sequin dresses. It really just depends! Check out my New Year’s Eve dress options below!
