We’re in full force Gingham right now. Tbh, this trend grew on me. Let’s talk about why and how to wear gingham.

So when it comes to how to wear Gingham, make sure you pick a piece that works with your overall style. I wasn’t on the gingham bandwagon right away. It took me a while until I found a piece I liked. This skirt is so me. Gingham reminds me of something I would wear when I was a child so whenever I wear gingham, I tend to pick something that’s more fitted and/or has some unique twist to it. The fitted skirt gives it more of a mature look and the addition of the ruffles helps add a little flare. So this exact skirt is almost sold out but I’ve linked to a similar one here that is honestly just as cute. It also looks exactly like this one but for so much less.

Gingham on gingham or get out of town? There isn’t a right or wrong answer here. When it comes to how to wear gingham it’s important to realize if you want to do a gingham top and matching gingham bottom or if just one piece is enough for you. In this situation, I decided that the skirt was perfect for me. I dressed this up with an off the shoulder bell sleeve top which is a great day to night look. I would definitely wear gingham on gingham though if it was a daytime look. This top goes perfectly with the skirt if you’re looking for gingham on gingham.

Stay neutral with the accessories. I’m definitely not saying don’t accessories ( I would never) but I’m just saying to be aware of your bag and shoes. I’m sort of breaking my own rule here because I wore this gingham skirt with a Gucci belt. I thought it would be too much at first but it ended up being exactly what the outfit needed to finish it off. I wore this with my vintage Chanel bag and the gold c’s worked perfectly with the Gucci logo on my belt. Sidenote: Good thing logos are back because that entire sentences sounded obnoxious. I wore super simple white, ankle strap heels. It made the white in the skirt pop more which made it more summery.

What I Wore: Skirt: Pretty Little Thing // Top: Willow and Clay (similar: Free People)  // Shoes: Steve Madden (similar) // Belt: Gucci // Rings: Everly
